Vijay Runs to Hug Ajith Kumar at Silverstone as Viral Video Wins Fans’ Hearts
A video of Vijay running towards Ajith Kumar for a hug at the Silverstone Racing Circuit has gone viral. The heartwarming moment has delighted fans who have long viewed the two Tamil stars as rivals.
A heartwarming moment between two of Tamil cinema’s biggest stars, Vijay and Ajith Kumar, has gone viral on social media. A video from the Silverstone Racing Circuit in the UK shows Vijay running towards Ajith and embracing him during his visit to the venue.
Ajith personally welcomed Vijay at Silverstone ahead of the Michelin Le Mans Cup round in the UK. The warm exchange quickly caught the attention of fans, particularly because the two actors have often been compared and portrayed as rivals by sections of their fan bases over the years.
Despite the constant comparisons surrounding their careers, Vijay and Ajith have maintained a cordial relationship spanning more than two decades. Their latest public interaction offered another reminder that the rivalry often discussed by fans does not necessarily reflect the relationship between the two stars.
Vijay is currently in the UK to support Ajith during the racing event. He is also scheduled to officially wave the green flag at Saturday’s race, adding another special connection to his visit.
A Chief Minister at the Racetrack
The visit carried extra weight because Vijay is now Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister. He attended the Michelin Le Mans Cup weekend at Silverstone as the event’s official special guest, according to PTI, and waved the ceremonial green flag to start the 44-car race.
Ajith raced for his own team, Ajith RedAnt by Virage, in the LMP3 Pro/Am category. Trisha Krishnan watched from the grandstands alongside Vijay and Tamil Nadu minister Aadhav Arjuna, Deccan Chronicle reported.
Deccan Chronicle also reported that Vijay is studying international motorsport infrastructure for a proposed Motor Sports City in Tamil Nadu. The opposition DMK and AIADMK questioned the trip, saying no significant investment details had emerged from it, according to Onmanorama.
Photos and videos from Silverstone captured Ajith greeting Vijay as he arrived at the circuit. One particular clip showing Vijay running towards Ajith for a hug quickly spread across social media, with fans celebrating the unexpected and affectionate moment.
The Silverstone weekend has also attracted attention among Tamil cinema followers, with actors Radhika Sarathkumar and Trisha Krishnan sharing updates from London while Ajith prepared for his racing appearance.
For fans who have spent years debating Vijay and Ajith as competitors, the viral hug offered a refreshing sight — two superstars meeting not as rivals, but simply as friends and colleagues supporting each other.
